2009 COMMUNITY PROFILE REPORT
Executive Summary Introduction:

Affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® complete a community assessment every two years to understand the state of breast health and cancer care services in their service areas. The purpose of the assessment is to ensure their work is collaborative, targeted and nonduplicative and is intended to establish focused education and grantmaking activities. Three Colorado Affiliates—Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Southeastern Colorado Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and Aspen Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®—collaborated on this assessment to create a statewide profile encompassing their service areas and potential counties for expansion. By working together, the Affiliates created statewide priorities to guide decisions at the Affiliate level in order to create a common vision and goal with which to serve women and men in Colorado. This shared vision creates the opportunity to strengthen networks, break down barriers and increase access to breast health and cancer care services for all in Colorado.
