TEAMS INFORMATION We encourage teams to register on-line at www.komencs.org. This allows the captain immediate visibility of team members and allows the captain to distribute information via email. While on-line registration is preferred, you also can register on paper. Be sure to get your official team name from your team captain. Each team member must complete an individual registration form, whether on-line or on paper. Team captains pick up race items at the Citadel Mall Store upstairs near JC Penney.

Welcome to the Teams website Please contact teams@komencs.org if you would like to pick up registration forms or posters for your team areas; captains may download the Team Reconciliation form here.
Team Size: A Team is defined as 5 or more family members, friends, or co-workers. Each team member is encouraged but not required to raise $125 in donations.
CREATING A TEAM All Team Captains need to register their team name online. NOTE: The first team member to register online will be designated the Team Captain.
To create a new team, access the online registration. The next screen will have several sections, including: Register Login Donate Access your personal Race Center
Click on FORM A TEAM on the right side of the screen.
The next screen will be JOIN or FORM a TEAM. Please look at the TEAMS LIST PAGE (located above the box where you create your team) before you create a team to make sure someone has not already created your team. IF there is a team already created for your company or group and it has the incorrect Team Captain information, please contact teams@komencs.org.
Underneath the Team Name, you can set a fundraising goal for the team. Enter your Team name and set a fundraising goal if you like. That is all there is to setting up your team online.
When you are finished select NEXT STEP to proceed.
JOINING A TEAM To join a team, access the online registration page. The next screen will have several sections, including: Register Log in Donate Access your Personal Race Center
Click on JOIN A TEAM on the right side of the screen.
The next screen is called JOIN OR FORM A TEAM . You can enter your team name or select the “Search for a Team” button. This will allow a person to pick the correct team name. You can join the team by selecting “Join” which is located on the right side of the team list, or you may type your team name.
If you select JOIN from the team list or if you type in your team name and select NEXT STEP it will take you to the next screen, which will be the same for both options.
REGISTERING FOR THE RACE The registration screen will allow you to complete your individual registration as a team member. You will be prompted to select participation option (Adult, Child, Sleep-In, etc.) and set a personal fundraising goal. We encourage each team member to raise $125 in addition to the entry fee. You will be asked if you would like to make an additional donation while you are registering. When you have answered these questions, select NEXT STEP to proceed.
On the next screen, you will supply your personal contact information and be asked to set up a user ID and password for future access to the site. You will also have to answer questions about shirt size, survivor, age, whether you are walking, running or sleeping-in, and how you are going to pick up your Race Packet. Select NEXT STEP to proceed.
You will now be prompted to read the waiver and check a box indicating your acceptance of it. When you have done this, select NEXT STEP to proceed.
You will now be prompted to enter your credit card information for the registration fee. When you have done this, select NEXT STEP to proceed.
The next screen will display your registration and credit card information for you to verify. If the information is correct, select PROCESS to proceed. If the information is NOT correct, select PREVIOUS STEP to correct the information.
You have now completed your registration online! If you want you can immediately access your Personal Race Center or you can log out and come back at another time.
ACCESSING MY PERSONAL RACE CENTER At any time after you register, you can access your Race Center, where you can:
- Communicate with your team members
- Create and send emails to your family and friends to tell them about the Race and ask them to sign up as participants or support your efforts with a contribution.
- Post pictures
- IF you are a Team Captain, monitor the progress of your team (number of registrants and dollars raised)
- First, select LOGIN from the menu on the left side of the screen.
You will be prompted for your user name and password. If you forget your user name or password, you can ask the system to email the information to you. When you have filled in that information, select LOGIN to continue.
There should now be icons for 6 (possibly 7, if you are a Team Captain) destinations at the top of the screen: My Race Center Personal Page Address Book and E-mail Follow Ups My Progress My Team’s Progress (For Team Captains)
My Race Center This is the homepage when you log in. Check back here often for new and updates on the Komen Colorado Springs Race for the Cure®.
Personal Page This option lets you build your own personal web page that you can use to communicate with your friends and family. As a Team Captain, you may choose to use this area to create a team page to communicate with and motivate your team members or as a personal page to recruit team members and solicit pledges.
Address Book The option lets you maintain an e-mail address list. You can type in addresses or import from other e-mail programs.
E-mail This option lets you write or send e-mail messages to one or more people in your address book.
Follow Ups This option will let you know about people who have donated on your behalf and will give you the ability to send them an e-mail “Thank You” note.
My Progress This option will let you check on your personal fundraising progress.
My Team’s Progress (Available to Team Captains) This option will let you check on your team’s progress. You will see the number of people registered and their names and e-mail addresses, and you will see the progress of the team’s fundraising.
TEAM PACKET PICKUP Individual Team members may pick up their Race packet at the Race Store at the Citadel Mall upstairs near JC Penney through noon August 30. (Hours are Weekdays from 11 to 7:30) We will still put Team packets together if a Team requests it by e-mailing the Team Reconciliation form, to identify all team members online and with paper registration forms, to teams@komencs.org. Someone from the Teams Committee will call the Team Captain once the form is received. The Teams Committee will need at least 48 hours to put the Team Packets together. Once completed, a member of the Teams Committee will call the Team Captain to let him/her know the packet is ready to be picked up at the Race Store at the Citadel Mall.
